OUR STORY

From Home Kitchen
to Community Café

Baked True North started in 2016 in a small home kitchen with a big dream: to create baked goods that everyone could enjoy, especially those living gluten‑free.

What began as a passion project quickly grew into a beloved local destination. We expanded into a commercial kitchen and eventually opened our storefront café on Perry Highway in Pittsburgh’s North Hills.

Our kitchen is 100% gluten‑free. We also offer a wide selection of dairy‑free and vegan options, because we believe everyone deserves delicious baked goods without compromise.

Beyond baking, our café is a warm gathering spot featuring specialty coffee, vintage finds, and a community that celebrates gluten‑freedom.

There is no place like Baked True North around! To know it’s a dedicated gluten free and celiac-safe space is such a relief. There are dairy free and vegan options too. They have staples (my fav are the breakfast sandwiches and cinnamon rolls) but the rotating menu lets you try some fun seasonal treats. Completely recommend!

Super neat spot! The food was incredible, truthfully you wouldn’t really be able to tell it’s Gluten Free! At least I couldn’t and I didn’t start not eating gluten until about a year ago because my partner’s child has celiac. Highly recommend this place to anyone even if you still eat gluten! This place is amazing! I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve tried. I regularly buy their English muffins, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and other pastries/goodies. Having celiac disease, it can be tough finding quality GF food/baked goods, so it feels incredible to walk in here and have the freedom to literally eat anything they have! Thank you for all you do!

What a great Gluten-free bakery… Complete With awesome gluten-free breakfast sandwiches and the waffles with their syrup was amazing…. We came back and tried the lunch sandwiches were very good. We took extras home…This place is our new fav.
